Located on the hillsides at Ngong Ping on Lantau Island, the 220-ton seated Buddha statue is 26.4 metres high and took 10 years to complete. The statue was unveiled in 1993. Hong Kong MTR (underground). One of the most efficient of the world. Today it keeps over 2.2 million people on the move every weekday, making it one of the most heavily utilized mass transit systems in the world.
